Unfortunately, Userbrain does not allow testers to use emulators when performing user tests.
Emulators, such as to run Android or iOS environments on a PC or Mac, do not replicate the exact experience that a native device provides. Our customers rely on testers to use real devices to ensure accurate feedback on how their websites or apps perform in real-world conditions. Using an emulator could lead to discrepancies in:
Performance: Emulators may not accurately reflect loading times or responsiveness.
Functionality: Some app features or gestures may behave differently on emulators.
User Experience: The touch, feel, and overall interaction on an emulator differ from a native device.
While some emulators are highly sophisticated, we require all testers to maintain the high-quality standards our customers expect. Hence testing on real devices is a must.
If you’ve received a notification about an available Android or iOS test but do not own one of these devices, don’t worry! The message is simply an advisory letting you know that there are currently no available tests for your device at that time, but that there are tests available on a different mobile device. If you ever acquire an Android or iOS device, you can add it to your account to access and perform these tests!
For now, you’ll only be provided tests compatible with the devices you have registered in your Userbrain profile.
If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to Userbrain's Support Team.
